My JS Journey

Posted on 2026-01-04

I guess you problably are wondering why I started a blog. Well, here's the thing. I started this site in 2021 as a way to practice coding. I rewrote it as I grew up and learned more about coding, and this is the latest incarnation. I thought that collecting my internet prescence and providing a list of things I've done on the internet was not a bad idea.

2025 was the year I wrote a social media product with a group of friends called Twidilers. We didn't really know what we wanted to do when we started out and ended up using a messy patchwork of JavaScript frontend and Python backend. After finishing that project in September, I realized I should learn NextJS. It had the perfect capabilities, and was written in a language I was familiar in. But where to start?

This was the perfect starting place. With a design I loved and a static 5-page service, wall03.blue was the perfect place to start. With some (conversational-- I'm not vibe coding) help from ChatGPT and the internet, I got to work. I feel a lot more comfortable in it now. I created simple dynamic blog posts, projects, and cards. I do want to start another project, but I don't know what yet. I *promise* to not just fill this blog with "oops i forgot to post" for 3 MORE years.
